CHRONOMORPH by KONTRAST Windows x64 / VST3 UNSIGNED DEMO CANDIDATE This installer is for installation and DAW testing. Use it in demo mode; production activation and the paid release are still being prepared. KONTRAST is the company brand. In this candidate, the DAW manufacturer label and the installation and data folders still use the earlier name KILNdsp. CHRONOMORPH is an audio effect that reshapes time inside a musical cycle. You need a 64-bit Windows DAW that supports VST3 effects. This installer does not contain a standalone app, a macOS build, or a 32-bit plugin. See the download page for the Windows versions and DAWs tested for this build. INSTALL 1. Save your projects and close your DAW. 2. Run CHRONOMORPH-0.1.0-demo-windows-x64-setup.exe and accept the Windows administrator prompt. This candidate is not signed, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway, and only when the file came from the official download page and its SHA-256 matches the published .exe.sha256 value. 3. Choose the VST3 parent folder your DAW scans. The default is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\KILNdsp\ The complete CHRONOMORPH.vst3 bundle is placed inside it. Supporting files and the uninstaller go to C:\Program Files\KONTRAST\CHRONOMORPH. 4. Start your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins if necessary. Find CHRONOMORPH under KILNdsp in the audio effects list and insert it on an audio track. The installer never replaces the plugin while a host holds it open; it asks you to close the DAW instead of forcing it. It also warns when another CHRONOMORPH.vst3 already sits in a folder your hosts scan -- a development copy in KILNdsp-dev, for instance -- because both copies identify themselves as the same plugin and a host may then load either one. Keep only one installed, and back up projects before updating. TRY THE DEMO No license key is needed to try the demo. Load audio, start playback, and use Amount to introduce movement. Cycle selects the musical interval; Mix blends the processed and dry signals. The demo has no expiry, all features remain available, and presets and projects save normally. Its output is interrupted by a 0.6-second noise mark, including a 0.06-second fade at each end. The first mark starts after 20 seconds of audio processing. Each later mark follows 45 seconds without a mark, so consecutive starts are 45.6 seconds apart. The same restriction applies to rendered audio. Timing counts processed audio, including silence; a DAW may continue processing while stopped. The DEMO button indicates that this computer is not activated. Use this candidate for auditioning and testing. ACTIVATION No purchase is required for this demo candidate. The instructions below describe the planned licensed release and apply only when purchases and activation are announced as available on the official download page. Use the license key from your official CHRONOMORPH purchase receipt. Online: click DEMO, enter your license key, then click Activate. Successful activation removes the DEMO button and the periodic noise mark. The signed licence is stored locally; normal licensed use works offline. Offline studio computer: enter your license key in the activation dialog and choose Activate offline. Save the request copied to the clipboard to a text file. Carry it to a connected computer and use the activation page listed in the dialog. Copy the returned licence back to the studio computer, paste it in the Licence field, and click Install. The request contains your license key and a computer identifier, so keep it private. A licence covers three computers. To free this computer's seat, click the version text below the CHRONOMORPH wordmark, choose Deactivate this computer, and confirm. Complete this while connected before wiping or replacing the computer. If it has already been lost or wiped, use the support route on the download page to recover the seat. Reinstalling Windows may require activation. TROUBLESHOOTING Plugin missing: confirm your DAW is 64-bit and supports VST3, check the full folder path above, then use the DAW's VST3 rescan or failed-plugin reset. Missing VCRUNTIME/MSVCP DLL: install or repair Microsoft's current Visual C++ x64 Redistributable from Microsoft's website, then restart the DAW: https://learn.microsoft.com/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist Activation cannot connect: this candidate is intended for demo use, and production activation is not available for it. When the licensed release is available, check service availability on the download page or contact support there. You can keep using demo mode. Windows blocks the download or plugin: this candidate carries no publisher signature, so SmartScreen may warn on a downloaded installer. Verify that the file came from the official download page, compare its SHA-256 against the published .exe.sha256 value, and contact support with the exact warning text. A checksum confirms that a download matches the published file; it is not a publisher signature. Do not disable Windows security protections to install. The installer places release.json with its version and signing status, SHA256SUMS.txt for its contents, and third-party notices in Notices/ under C:\Program Files\KONTRAST\CHRONOMORPH. The separately published .exe.sha256 file gives the SHA-256 of the installer itself. UPDATE OR REMOVE Close the DAW before installing an update. Running the installer again for the same folder replaces that build. To uninstall, use Windows Settings > Installed apps > CHRONOMORPH, or the uninstaller in C:\Program Files\KONTRAST\CHRONOMORPH. It removes only the files it installed, and it asks you to close a DAW that still holds the plugin open. Your presets and licence remain in %APPDATA%\KILNdsp\CHRONOMORPH. Removing the plugin does not free a licence seat; deactivate first if you want to use that seat on another computer. For support, include the version from release.json, Windows version, DAW name and version, and steps that reproduce the issue. Do not post your license key or offline activation request publicly.
